REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Head of the Winning Team of the Crescent Star Party (PBB) Sukmo Harsono said the support of PBB's Shura Council to the pair of presidential candidate number 02 Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno has not been the party's decision. It was merely as a recommendation.

The recommendation of the Shura Council would be discussed in the party's mechanism, among others in a plenary meeting. Sukmo argued that the statement conveyed by the Shura Council in the press conference was the right attitude. They provided recommendations to the Central Executive Board (DPP) based on the council's verdict.

He explained that the recommendations still had to be read at the plenary meeting. In the meeting, PBB Chairman Yusril Ihza Mahendra would stated his views on the DPP's strategic steps.

In addition, all administrators would discuss and provide their views. The results of the DPP's plenary meeting would decide whether to accept the recommendations of the Shura Council or reject it, and / or make the opposite decision which was supporting number 01 candidates, Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin.

"I think the opportunity to go to Jokowi is far greater," Sukmo said on Friday (Jan 18).

However, Sukmo denied that the difference in political attitudes between the Shura Council led by MS Kaban and the DPP led by Yusril was a PBB's strategy to be included in the two camps. Currently, PBB has not decided their stance and allowed its cadres to have their own choices.

"However, when DPP's official decision has been released, all should be followed the Party's decision," he said.

If later the party has decided and there are cadres who provide support for different candidates, Sukmo was reluctant to mention sanctions that would be imposed. He emphasized that he did not want to think the possibility that there would be cadres who did not obey the party's decision.

The Shura Council of the Crescent Star Party (PBB) proposed and recommended that the Central Executive Board (DPP) of PBB support the presidential candidates from Ijtima Ulama II, namely Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno in the 2019 Presidential Election.

"In the daily meeting of DPP PBB it was decided that the decision of the Shura Council be disseminated to the region through PBB National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) which will be held on January 27-28 2019," said Chairman of PBB's Shuro Council MS Ka'ban during a press conference, at DPP PBB Office, in South Jakarta, on Thursday.
