REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) said political disparuty in the community would not cause prolonged conflict or even divide people of Indonesia. The differences in the community will end after 2019 election is held completely, he said.
“When election, certainly people will split but it will not cause conflict and dispute,” JK said on Tuesday.
According to JK, the implementation of election in Indonesia since New Order era has never resulted a prolonged conflict between candidate pairs and also people with different political choices. He said after election day, people will not be different again.
JK explained for example in government, each party is different. However, after being into the government, most of them accepted the result and return to unity.
The 2019 simultaneous election in Indonesia will take place Wednesday, Apr 17. People in the country will vote for country’s leaders and representatives for the next five years. The polling stations (TPS) will open at 7 am and close at 1 pm.
