REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A vice president candidate of incumbent President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Ma’ruf Amin said, he does not have plan to hold iftar this Ramadhan with vice president candidate of Prabowo Subianto, Sandiaga Uno. Earlier, the plan was said as part of reconciliation between 2019 presidential candidate.

“Not yet. No one said to me if he (Sandiaga) wants to iftar with me,” said Ma’ruf on Tuesday.

Ma’ruf said he welcome if Sandiaga wants to do fitar together at his house. According to him, the meeting between them will rebuild brotherhood. However, Ma’ruf stressed, he will not contact Sandiaga first, but he is willing to welcome Sandiaga if he want to hold a meeting in this holy month.

Earlier, National campaign team Indonesia Work Coalition (TKN KIK) deputy secretary Verry Surya Hendrawan said Ma’ruf is planning a meeting with Sandiaga. The planning activities including iftar and tarawih prayer together.

“Insya Allah (God will) will meet with both vice presidential candidates before the announcement and appointment of president elected on May 22,” said Verry.
