"If there is a new kind of fiqh which needed by Muslims for a long time, maybe 'fiqh' for hostility," a friend commented suddenly.
"What does that mean?"
"Yes, because Muslims nowadays are very careless in the hostile. Colleagues become enemy, the real enemy becomes friend. Disagreement on certain things becomes the base of the big problems, while the fundamental error is even ignored," he said again.
I am interested in the unique statements. Maybe there is a strong idea behind statements that seem nonsense? "My idea, 'fiqh' hostility is a new branch of fiqh that manage Muslims to be wise in looking for the enemy."
"You cannot go around it." I protested, "Anyway, we should not be looking for the enemy, should we?"
"True, but the enemy, in fact, is always be around. In fact, sometimes there are so many that we will not have enough time to deal with all. That is why we have to choose the enemy wisely."
Rows of example he gave then made incomplete picture in my head gradually finding form. Afghanistan Mujahideen managed to expel Russia after 11-year war. However, the success was destroyed instantly when Taliban came to combat and kill fighters. If the Taliban understood 'fiqh' hostility, there were still many other enemies on the field which should be combated.
Arab countries were suddenly united to attack Yemen. Hundreds of warplanes and military forces were involved. In modern history, Arab nations have never been united that much.
If you understand 'fiqh' hostility, not far from there, the Palestinians were oppressed for decades by Zionists who clearly hostile to Muslims. But, how are the neighbors of the Arab countries? Palestine is somehow left to fend alone.
Among so many enemies, a weight should we choose to resist. If you want to make the path of struggle, choose the field in which opponent was clearly causing damage.
In other words, if we did jihad against fellow Muslims, whereas in other places there were perverse people who oppressed and spread evil, then jihad that we chose did not appreciate 'fiqh' hostility or in this case as a fiqh priority in the context of hostility.
If you want to punish some criminals of the many that exist, prioritize the offenders whose crimes were most dangerous. Rather than openly criticize Islam works, it is better to criticize jahiliyyah works which are much worse.
Dialogue with the friend reminded me about the events took place not long ago which is related to some new Islamic movies which circulating in the cinema, and then reaped criticism and insults. In fact, many of the critics judge without watching it and it never once criticized other movies that not only not Islamic, but also voiced demoralized and jahiliyyah.
Why many people who blindly attack works have more value than a fellow Muslim, but not fierce in criticizing and judging other works that clearly bring disrepute flag?
In fact, producing a movie spent billions. And, Muslim moviemakers were trying to make movies as a response to Islamic culture war against a multitude of movies that promote ghosts and sex which were unclear, which the first rooted. Sadly, this struggle then attacked by Muslims themselves.
Another event when movie poster ‘Surga yang Tidak Dirindukan’ out on social media. It was seen a new actress who decided to wear hijab not long ago, stood adjacent to the husband actor who impressed attached behind her.
Actually, the producer could easily tell the main star cast of men hugging a woman, then photographed. However, because the actress refused to cuddle in the shooting by reason of shari’, finally the photo tricked by selecting camera angles and did photoshop. Apparently, the protest even blasphemy then appeared.
The actress who recently began to approach Islam with veils was not given space to proceed, instead, were forced to behave and have a viewpoint like those who have long migrated. The effort of the artist refuse to be embraced was totally unappreciated.
There were so loud criticisms circulating until many fans (who have not veiled) of the actress also voiced. "No wonder not many artists want to wear hijab, the attitude to not want to be touched unappreciated, even her photoshop was judged!"
'Fiqh' animosity or anything like that, is it really necessary? It has been so long that it seems like our eyes are blind to see the real enemy. Being very hard on Muslims who fought with his work, but passive, inaudible voice when products vices rampant, besieged from all directions.
"Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah and those with him being tough and firm against the infidels and be compassion and mercy among them." (Al-Fath: 29).
