REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Jakarta Fair 2012, claimed as the biggest carnival in South East Asia, is officially by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Thursday night in Jakarta International Expo (Jiexpo), Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
"This is the biggest event in South East Asia. Compared to 2004, the number of the visitors is increasing two times. The trade transaction also increases ten folds," the President stated.
This annual event is held for the 45th times to celebrate the 485th Jakata anniversary. The event, started from June 14-July 15, is expected to become the symbol of Jakarta development.
A number of musicians, such as Iwan Fals, Slank, Agnes Monica, and Godbless, will also perform in this event for 32 consecutive days. Visitor should pay 20,000 IDR for the ticket on Monday to Thursday, while those who come on Friday to Sunday pay 25,000 IDR. To ease the visitors, the management provides shuttle bus TransJakarta to get to the location. The visitor can take shuttle bus from Monas to the Second Gate of PRJ Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. The bus is operated from 09.15 to 23.00.
