Donggala, the underwater paradise of Indonesia

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALU - Donggala is very famous for its diving site. It is well known among diving enthusiasts from Europe so they often visit Donggala with long residence times. Donggala is about 40 km from Palu, capital of Central Sulawesi and can be reach by an hour from the capital. 

Compared to Raja Ampat in Papua, Donggala also offers natural attractions as another underwater paradise of Indonesia with beautiful coral reefs and many kinds of fish like sharks, turtles, nemo and nudibranchs. Foreign tourists who visited Donggala usually admitted that they know Donggala from person to person. They also know the beauty of Donggala from Facebook and bloggers' pictures.

Donggala has a resort, Prince John Dive Resort (PJDR), which is popular among the European divers. This is the only resort that offers diving services in Donggala. "About 85 percent of our guests are from Europe, while 15 percent are Indonesians," Manager PDJR Alexander Franz said on Monday.

Franz said that he didn't promote this place widely because the number of villa only 15 units and had always fully occupied by visitors. A tourist of Bavaria, Inge Eberl said that she had come twice to Donggala. "This is the second visit to celebrate my 50th anniversary," he said.

Erika Oltmans from Germany particularly came to Indonesia 23 days for holiday. Before diving in Donggala, Oltmans had dived in Bunaken and Lembeh Bitung in North Sulawesi. She also said that Indonesia had the most beautiful dive sites in the world. "I dived in Raja Ampat, Papua, then in Lombok and Bali," she said.

Dan mereka (Ahli Kitab) tidak berpecah belah kecuali setelah datang kepada mereka ilmu (kebenaran yang disampaikan oleh para nabi) karena kedengkian antara sesama mereka. Jika tidaklah karena suatu ketetapan yang telah ada dahulunya dari Tuhanmu (untuk menangguhkan azab) sampai batas waktu yang ditentukan, pastilah hukuman bagi mereka telah dilaksanakan. Dan sesungguhnya orang-orang yang mewarisi Kitab (Taurat dan Injil) setelah mereka (pada zaman Muhammad), benar-benar berada dalam keraguan yang mendalam tentang Kitab (Al-Qur'an) itu.
