REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SURABAYA -- Oriental Circus Indonesia will enliven Surabaya city's 722nd anniversary celebrations by organizing a show at the parking lot of the Pakuwon City's East Coast Mall in Surabaya from May 22 to June 14.
The spokesman for Oriental Circus Indonesia, Joan Bear, said on Thursday that before organizing the show in Pakuwon City, a month-long show was held at Lenmarch square in Surabaya from April 10 to May 10.
"This is the biggest circus in Indonesia. We hope we can entertain Surabaya residents with this show," he said.
He said Oriental Circus Indonesia has traveled around the country, including Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan to entertain locals.
The show this time will feature Ukrainian acrobats Anton and Natali. "They will demonstrate their skills and will prove to be an attraction, along with actresses from Oriental Circus Indonesia," he said.
Established in 1967, Oriental Circus Indonesia is the first and only circus group in the country. During its 43 years of existence, it has won several medals from various agencies including civil agencies such as the central government, and regional governments, as well as military agencies such as the Air Force, the Army, and the Navy besides the National Police and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
