REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Nine countries with world class animation industries will be participating in Baros International Animation Festival (BIAF) 2015 in Cimahi, October 7 to 10, 2015.

"BIAF 2015 will see the participation of animation industry players from nine countries and participants from several Indonesian universities," a BIAF 2015 organizer Roni said here Friday.

The foreign participants came from the Netherlands, Germany, USA, and Japan, in addition to Singapore, the Philippines, Iran, Malaysia and France, he said.

The event has several main programs namely business meetings, master class, talk show, animation expo, and this year BIAF holds short animation film award.

Forty-two countries have submitted animation films, and have been assessed based on such categories as best film, best character and best story. The judges of this competition are from America, France and Indonesia, Roni said.

"So far there are 15 nominees and the winners will be selected from each category," he said.

BIAF will also hold an animation expo including animation studio, comic studio, and games.

BIAF 2015 is expected to see visits by at least 10,000 visitors which is an increase from the two previous events. In 2013, there were 6,000 visitors, and in 2014, there were 8,000 visitors.

"Hopefully this event will continue to be held so that BIAF could be a market place for animation industry and the Indonesian pride for world-class animation festival," Roni added.
