REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesia would promote diving tourism with various world class diving destinations. It would be offered in Sales Mission Diving event in Japan, 8th to 9th October 2015.

Deputy of Foreign Marketing Development of Ministry of Tourism, I Gde Pitana, said the Indonesian diving tourism attraction is endless and it is even believed to be able to contribute to foreign exchange four times more than current amount.

"At 8th to 9th October 2015, we will hold a Sales Mission Diving in Tokyo, Japan. This event was previously held in Beijing, China on 9th September," he said.

The sales mission, said Pitana, is one of the main strategies of Indonesian tourism marketing, namely Branding, Advertising, and Selling (BAS), announced by Minister of Tourism, Arief Yahya.

This event is one of the ways to realize the target of 529 thousand tourists visits from Japan. This target is supported by visa-free facility for foreign tourists from Japan, which was stated in Presidential Decree No. 69 of 2015.

"The Ministry is targeting 10 million tourist arrivals by 2015," he added.

According Pitana, Indonesia has a great potential for diving tourism with diving points spread from Weh Island in the western to Raja Ampat in the eastern. In the middle, there are also Banda Islands, Bunaken, Wakatobi, Lembeh Strait, Alor Island, Togean, Gili Air, Komodo Island, and Paradise Bay that offers underwater beauty.
