REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUTA -- Five international airlines with a total of 19 international routes canceled flight schedules from and to Denpasar, Bali. The cancellation was done after the eruption of Mount Barujari in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

"It was technically the airline who canceled the flights to Bali. While, the airport is already operating," said General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I, Ngurah Rai International Airport, Trikora Harjo, in Kuta, Friday (6/11).

The five international airlines were, among others, Emirates Airlines with three flights Denpasar-Dubai route, AirAsia and Malaysia Airlines with one flight each. Other two airlines were Jetstar with nine flights and Virgin Australia with five flights.

The spread of volcanic ashes of Mount Barujari were still heading to south based on observations from Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysic Agency (BMKG) and the Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) in Darwin, Australia.
