REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALU -- Various tourists from South Korea, Italy, France, and Germany have confirmed will attend the Togean Festival in Tojo Unauna District, Central Sulawesi on August 27 to 31, 2016.
"We have received the information two days ago and the travelers from various countries will increase in the next days," Head of Central Sulawesi Tourism and Creative Economy Department, Siti Norma Mardjanu said in Palu on Monday.
The tourists will be doing several activities in Togean Festival including fun bike activity that is organized by the committee.
Central Sulawesi Provincial government and Tojo Unauna District are ready to host the Togean Festival in order to promote the potential tourism. Govt expects to increase local revenue from the service and tourism sector.
In the pre-Togean Festival event, the government has organized the underwater photo contest and cruise tourism in July 2016, which followed by 131 photographers.
The government also has held boat race, culinary, cultural attractions, traditional martial art, and fun bike and followed by 350 participants.
"There are various activities carried out by the committee and the government, from cultural, dance, sport, up to the games," Mardjanu explained.
