REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PONTIANAK -- Asiang, a coffee shop at Merapi Street, Pontianak, West Kalimantan always crowded everyday. The uniqueness of the barista has become main attraction.
The barista at Asiang is bare-chested. He is also the owner of that coffee shop.
His big posture and bald head which easily to remember was not the reason why people keep on coming back to the coffee shop named after him. Moreover, he had 59 years of experience in the business. Back then, he help his parents run a coffee shop.
Asiang's deft hands mixed the coffee with hot water, then pour it into the cup. He sometimes also added sweetened condensed milk, as ordered by customers.
"Bare-chested while preparing coffee is a breakthrough to differentiate my coffee shop. It is the uniqueness of Asiang coffee shop," Asiang said on Monday (October 16).

Asiang's effort was assessed success. Many people attracted to come to his coffee shop, although sometimes it looked less hygienic.
Asian said, every day he sold almost 600 cups of coffee.
Not only serving black coffee, milk tea and milk coffee also listed on the menu.
The price range for drinks started form Rp6,000 up to Rp10 thousand. In addition, the coffee shop also sell various snacks, such as pastries, pancakes, bengkoang slides and srikaya jam bread.
Asiang coffee shop served customers from early morning, at 3.0 am until afternoon, 17.30 pm. Many people said that place make them relax.
Zulkifli (34) said, customers started to visit Asiang coffee shop since early morning. They wanted to enjoy coffee before working.
"Many people, just like me want to visit Asiang coffee because we want to enjoy a cup of quiet thick coffee which has good taste and also the ambience at this place," Zulkifli said.
