REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YOGYAKARTA - The Yogyakarta Regional Government has alerted health workers to face a long holiday at the end of October 2020 so that health services can continue to run during long holidays.

"Health workers in all health facilities in Yogyakarta are running like we are facing religious holidays. Like Idul Fitri and other holidays that are long weekends," said the Head of the Yogyakarta Health Service (Dinkes), Pembayun Setyaningastutie, after a coordination meeting to anticipate Covid-19 during a long holiday at the Kepatihan Complex, Yogyakarta, Thursday (22/10).

During the long holiday, the health workers who are alerted will take turns, both in hospitals and the health center in DIY. Thus, service to the community during long holidays is still optimal. Likewise, the laboratory for examining Covid-19 samples will still operate during the long holiday.

"During the holidays, the laboratory remains open to serve the public. It's just that there are some schedules where there are watch schedules in the laboratory," Pembayun said.

The Governor of Yogyakarta Special Region, Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, said awareness to implement health protocols become crucial in preventing the transmission of Covid-19, especially during the holiday period at the end of October 2020 where the number of tourists coming to DIY has expected to increase.
