REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YOGYAKARTA -- A total of seven Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Universities (PTMA) have achieved superior accreditation granted by BAN-PT. The seven campuses are University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD), University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS), University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), University of Muhammadiyah Prof. DR. HAMKA (UHAMKA), University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra (UMSU), and University of Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP).
The treasurer of the Assembly of Diktilitbang PP Muhammadiyah, Mahfud Sholahin, said Muhammadiyah had made a concrete contribution to the education sector. “This is evidenced by the existence of a charitable educational venture, namely PTMA, which has managed to reach an excellent level and produce many competent graduates,” Mahfud said on Monday (8/1/2024).
Mahfud said that based on the regulation of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) Number 1 of 2020 on the accreditation mechanism determines that the accreditation rating or accredited rating be Excellent, Good Once, and Good or Not Accredited. The ranking was to look at college qualifications and the quality of study programs at State Universities (PTN) and also Private Universities (PTS).
Meanwhile, Secretary of the Assembly of Diktilitbang PP Muhammadiyah, Ahmad Muttaqin said with the predicate of Unggul accreditation indicates that the campus has better resources, such as research funding, support from the government, and industry involvement. “The existence of these resources greatly supports quality research activities, the development of excellent programs, and the development of campus infrastructure in a better direction,” he said.
The following is a list of Ungul accredited Muhammadiyah campus names:
1. University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY)
UMY on March 1, 1981. UMY, located at Jalan Brawijaya, Kasihan, Bantul, Yogyakarta, has received BAN-PT accreditation three times in the last few years, namely in 2013 and 2018, accredited A, and in 2022 received Unggul accreditation.
2. Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD)
Based on the Decree of the National Accreditation Board of Colleges number 393/SK/BAN-PT/AK.KP/PT/V/2023, the Director of the Executive Council of the National Accreditation Board of Colleges assigns the accreditation rating of UAD Superior colleges. This accreditation status is valid from May 30, 2023 to October 11, 2027
3. University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS)
After achieving A-Accreditation by BAN-PT in 2017, UMS upgraded its accreditation to Unggul in 2021 and valid until 2026 based on SK number 1057/SK/BAN-PT/AK-PPJ/PT/XII/2021 for institutional accreditation.
4. University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM)
UMM has obtained an A accreditation from BAN-PT since 2013. Then in 2021, UMM again got the best accreditation with the Superior predicate. This accreditation is valid until 2027.
5. Muhammadiyah University Prof. DR. HAMKA (Uhamka)
Uhamka currently has nine faculties and a graduate school. After 2022 Uhamka was ranked the 22nd best Islamic university in the world, in 2023 Uhamka achieved the position as the 1st best Islamic university in Indonesia and 9th in the world.
6. University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra (UMSU)
UMSU achieved B accreditation by BAN-PT in 2015. In 2019 it achieved the accreditation predicate of A.
7. University of Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP)
UM Purwokerto successfully obtained B accreditation based on the number SK 75/SK/BAN-PT/AK-PPJ/PT/IV/2020 from the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education. Then, exactly on August 30, 2023, UMP went a long way by achieving Superior accreditation from BAN-PT with SK Number: 557/SK/BAN-PT/AK/PT/VIII/2023.
