REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Presidential candidate number 01 Anies Baswedan said Yogyakarta residents are very enthusiastic about expecting change, as he campaigned in Jambidan Square, Bantul, DIY, on Tuesday (23/1/2024).
“Yogya is amazing, Yogya remains special, and the enthusiasm of people from different districts of the city in DIY Yogyakarta shows a very high spirit of change, we saw them both come with enthusiasm,” Anies said in a press statement broadcast in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Anies said the mob came with self-interest and opinion, and it was interpreted as a goong royong movement. Anies said he was grateful to be back home.
Even Anies revealed there were many still holed up to the campaign site, so not all of them could attend and follow the People's Apel Akbar.
“It's just that there are still groups that can't get in, there are some technical obstacles, he said, but we'll see the full report later, because what can, can't, how can the streets be closed, even if the place is not passable. So many want to come, are blocked, can't get to the site,” Anies said.
The Governor of DKI Jakarta for the period 2017-2022 stated that Yogyakarta also has similar problems with other regions, mainly related to basic needs, as well as related to special funds.
“Actually, the issue at the national level is also felt in Jogja, a basic need, it is felt very much, then here there is an aspiration about how to optimize the special funds, how the central government supports activities related to the specialties of Yogya, especially in the field of culture,” he said.
