REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) of RI together with MS Glow held a homecoming together for the third time in a row. After Mudik Bareng MS Glow 2023 added 400 settlers, in 2024 it increased to 500 settlers.

Menparekraf Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno gave his appreciation to the program that has been going on for three years in a row. “The organization of this free homecoming further proves MS Glow's commitment in supporting the homecoming tradition in the country,” Sandi said at the release of MS Glow 2024 Bareng Mudik Bareng at the Sapta Pesona Kemenparekraf Building, Central Jakarta, Monday (8/4/2024).

The free homecoming facilitates nomads in Jakarta who will return to their hometowns in a number of areas of Central Java and East Java Provinces. The destination routes are Jakarta-Semarang-Surabaya, Jakarta-Surabaya-Malang, and Jakarta-Solo-Yogyakarta.

Sandiaga hopes that all settlers can enjoy the trip to their hometown and have a happy gathering with large families. “God willing, the homecoming journey can go smoothly and comfortably. May all settlers arrive in the hometown healthy, safe, and happy to enjoy Lebaran with their families and relatives,” Sandi said. 

Founder of J99 Corp, Gilang Widya Pramana explained, Eid is a time to give thanks, reflect on returning to his Fitrah, and celebrate with the whole family and loved ones. For the nomads in Jakarta, he added, gathering with extended family in their hometown is the most anticipated moment of Ramadan.

“MS Glow under the auspices of J99 Corp, strives to benefit people who want to make homecoming by facilitating them through this free homecoming program,” Gilang said on the same occasion.

Is Purdianingsih or commonly called Ning, a sewing worker in Cakung, East Jakarta who participated in the MS Glow 2024 Bareng Mudik. Working as a sewing laborer in the home convection industry, made it impossible to be able to make the homecoming every year. She is also happy to finally be able to participate in the 2024 free homecoming program.

“For more than three years my family and I have not made a homecoming to our hometown in the Semarang area. Besides the fact that yesterday there was a pandemic, financial factors also became an obstacle for us to return home,” Ning said.
