REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The struggle of the Indonesian national team in the third round of the 2026 Asian World Cup Qualifier will continue tomorrow. Shin Tae-yong's team will host Australia on Tuesday (10/9/2024) at 19:00pm at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (SUGBK) Senayan Jakarta.
Judging by the ranking and history of meeting the two countries, Indonesia is indeed far below. Ranked Australia 24th in the world, Indonesia 131st in the world. On a head-to-head basis, Indonesia has only won once out of 18 meetings.
The last meeting took place in the round of 16 of the 2024 Asian Cup last year in Qatar. Garuda lost 0—4. But the condition of the Indonesian national team at that time was not the same as that of the current, much stronger force.
Regarding tomorrow's game, one of the national team players Justin Hubner admitted the opponent is indeed stronger. But Hubner is confident in the current conditions he and his colleagues tomorrow are confident of clinching victory over Australia.
