REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir announced the total funding allocated to PSSI in 2025, which amounts to about IDR 665 billion. The funding aims to support the development of various PSSI programs and the Indonesian national team in an effort to improve football achievements in the country.

Of the total budget, about IDR 438 billion was obtained through cooperation with sponsors, media rights, ticket sales, merchandise, and other funding sources. In addition, PSSI has also received a commitment from the government, which President Prabowo directly conveyed IDR 227 billion.

“We express our deep gratitude to the government, especially President Prabowo for paying great attention to Indonesian football to continue to excel, sponsors, and the media, as well as all those who have provided support and assistance in the effort to transform football in Indonesia,” he said.

Erick added that the budget allocation will be used for national programs in 2025, which is expected to reach about IDR 350 billion. The rest is for other programs at PSSI.

The budget will be allocated to the preparation of several teams such as the senior team competing in the 2026 World Cup Qualifier and the U-23, U-20, and U-17 teams that will compete in the 2025 Asian Cup. It also includes a long-term TC program for women's teams for senior and junior categories. However, this budget requirement is not included for the Futsal team program and the beach soccer team.

“We are aware that this budget may not be comparable to that of countries like Japan or Saudi Arabia. However, we agreed to make the best use of these funds. We have seen tangible results, where almost all age groups of the national team have managed to qualify for the Asian Cup. Hopefully efforts to increase the FIFA ranking for men to 100 and for women to 50 can be realized," Erick said.

It is hoped that with this funding, PSSI can continue to innovate and improve the quality of existing programs, in order to prepare the Indonesian national team to compete on the international scene.
