JAKARTA -- The year of 2023 will be an exciting year for the performance and contribution of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) to the country and society of Indonesia.
In the four years of BUMN Minister Erick Thohir's leadership, the transformation of BUMN has produced a number of positive achievements, one of which is the record for the highest dividend in history of IDR 80.2 trillion.
Erick has made many breakthroughs throughout 2023, starting from cleaning up BUMN to increasing BUMN's competitiveness on the global stage. Erick also explained a number of breakthroughs through the 2023 kaleidoscope.
Last January, this Jakarta-born man collaborated with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to prevent corruption within BUMN. In February, Erick Thohir and 4,000 employees and the community mingled on a healthy walk together to celebrate 25 years of the Ministry of BUMN.
In the same month, the former President of Inter Milan also accompanied President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on a visit to the Nusantara Capital (IKN) to see the progress of IKN development.
Erick made concrete steps in pushing for improved governance through ratifying the deregulation of BUMN Ministerial regulations from 45 to three in March.
Meanwhile, in April, Erick inaugurated the revitalization of buildings and mosques at the Ministry of BUMN and invited BUMN to participate in the 2023 Hannover Messe in Germany, and even held a homecoming together with BUMN 2023.
He also made efforts to increase BUMN penetration in international markets by launching a joint office, Indonesia Incorporate in Hong Kong, as a global financial center in June.
A month later, Erick accompanied Jokowi on a visit to PT Pindad to increase national bullet production.
This transformation step received appreciation from many parties, such as the Unqualified Opinion (WTP) from the Financial Audit Agency (BPK) to the Ministry of BUMN for the 2022 financial report.
Erick also showed firm action against members carrying out corrupt practices in BUMN, one of which was by reporting BUMN suspected of corruption in managing pension funds to the Attorney General's Office in October.
