PR Manager of PT KAI Daop 4 Semarang Franoto Wibowo said that the passenger bag of KA Sembrani to Jakarta was left in the waiting room when it was about to depart on Sunday (7/4/2024).

According to him, the incident began when one of the passengers reported to the officer because his bag was left in the waiting room of Semarang Tawang Station. “Officers who obtained the report then combed around the passenger lounge found the bag left behind,” he said.

After checking, he said, the bag did contain a number of valuables, such as starting metals and foreign currency, whose value was estimated at Rp 510 million.

The bag, he said, was subsequently returned to its owner who had reached its destination at Jakarta Gambir Station. “The bag was sent to KA Argo Bromo Orchid with an officer escort,” he said, in the early hours of Monday (8/4/2024).

Franoto urged passengers to focus more on their luggage when traveling by train. “During the transit period of Lebaran 2024, the station is crowded with passengers who are going home,” he said.
