REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Tahajud prayer is one of the worships recommended by Allah SWT and the Messenger of Allah. Its virtues are widely mentioned in the Quran and the Prophet's hadith if performed by a Muslim.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The most important prayer after the obligatory prayer is qiyamul lail (prayer of the lail),” (HR. Muslims).

"Allaahumma lakal hamdu anta qayyumus samaa waati wal ardhi wa man fiihinna, wa lakal hamdu anta malikus samaa waati wal ardhi wa man fiihinna, wa lakal hamdu anta nuurus samaawaati wal ardhi wa man fiihinna, wa lakal hamdu antal haqqu, wa wa'dukal haqqu, wa liqaa'uka haqqu, wa qaulukal haqqun, wal jannatu haqqun, wannaaru haqqun, wan-nabiyyuuna haqqun, wa Muhammadun shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallama haqquw wassaa'atu haqqun.

Allaahumma laka aslamtu, wa bika aamantu, wa 'alaika tawakkaltu, wa ilaika anabtu, wa bika khaashamtu, wa ilaika haakamtu, faghfirlii maa qoddamtu, wa maa akhkhartu, wa maa asrartu, wa maa a'lantu, wa maa anta a'lamu bihiminnii. antal muqoddimu wa antal mu'akhkhiru laa ilaaha anta. wa laa haula wa laa quwwata illaa billaah."

It means:

“O Allah be all praise to you, You are the one who takes care of the heavens and the earth, and all the creatures that are therein. And to Thee all praise, Thou King of heaven and earth, and all the creatures that are therein. And to Thee all praise, Thou light of heaven and earth, and all the creatures that are therein. And to You all praise, Thou art true, Thy promise is true, the encounter with Thee is true, Thy sayings are true, Paradise is true, Hell is true, the prophets are true, and the Prophet Muhammad is true and the Day of Resurrection is true.

“O God only to You I give myself up, in You I believe, in You I trust, only in You I return (repent), to You I complain, and to You I ask for judgment, so forgive my past and subsequent sins and what I hide and what I do openly and what more do You know than me, You who precede and who finish, there is no God but You, and have no power (to avoid repentance) and no strength (to perform worship) except with the help of God.”
