REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Professor of Faculty of Law in University of Indonesia (UI), Hikmahanto Juwana said Indonesian government should be cautious that Australia would interfere Indonesian policy, mainly related to people smuggling. 

"When Liberal-National Party Coalition Leader wins the election, we have to wary that government of Australia will pour money to Indonesia worth 420 million AUD to resolve problem on people smuggling," Hikmahanto said recently. 

Hikmahanto said based on a survey, Liberal-National Party Coalition Leader, Tony Abbot was expected to win general election in Australia on September 7, 2013. While Indonesia has become a transit point for illegal immigrants before they enter Australia, Abbot included Australia's foreign affairs in his campaign.

Hikmahanto warned that Indonesia had experienced when Corby became an issue in Australian election. Australia tried to deportate Corby to Australia. President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono finally granted a clemency to Corby.
