REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YOGYAKARTA - Jupiter Aerobatic Team (JAT), a team of Indonesian Air Force will perform at International Defense Exhibition (Bridex) 2013. The team departed from Adi Sucipto airport, Yogyakarta on Wednesday.
Head of Information and Library in Adi Sucipto airport, Sus Hamdi Londong Allo said that Bridex 2013 was an aerospace exhibition and would take place on December 5-6, 2013. JAT will bring six KT-1B aircrafts with red and white.
"We can promote the ability of national maritime and aerospace products and we can reach markets in Asia Pacific through this event," Allo said on Wednesday.
JAT will feature aerial aerobatic maneuvers with various formations, namely Jupiter Roll, Arrow Head Loop-Break Off, Half Cuban-Jupiter Wheel, Tango to Diamond Loop, Heart, Screw Roll, Roll Slide, Solo Spin and Jupiter Roll Back. JAT was a third generation of Air Force aerobatic team, originally formed in 1997 with six HS Hawk Mk-53 aircrafts made in England.
In 2001, the team changed its name to Jupiter Blue and added three aircrafts, namely HS Hawk Mk-53, Hawk 109 and F-16 Fighting Falcon. In 2011, JAT will perform using six KT-1B aircrafts. Allo said that JAT was the pride of Indonesia.
"Aerobatic team of a country is one indicator of Air Force's professionalism," Allo said.
