REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANILA - Three in 10 Filipinos believe that Philippine President Benigno Aquino III failed to deliver on his promise to eliminate graft and corruption in the government, according to the results of a survey conducted by private research institute Pulse Asia released on Monday.
The latest Pulse Asia survey showed that 36 percent of respondents said Aquino did not fulfill his campaign promise to follow "Tuwid na Daan" or straight path, which indicated his intention to rid graft and corruption through reforms and good governance. As reported on OANA and Xinhua, Pulse Asia said nearly the same number of Filipinos expressed the belief that the Philippine president fulfilled his campaign promise.
The survey was conducted from September 8 to 15, a period when the Senate conducted an investigation into the alleged overpricing of a building in Makati City and the suspension of Senator Juan Ponce Enrile. The Pulse Asia survey involved personal interviews with 1,200 respondents nationwide.
