REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian employers complained about impact of embargo imposed by United States on Iran. They claim the policy make them difficult to find transit port for export to other countries.
PT Multistrada Arah Sarana as an Indonesian tire manufacturer is one example. The company finds US embargo had forced them to alter their transit port from Iran to China before their products reach Kazakstan.
"Since the US embargo, our company is forced to divert tire distribution channel to China last year. But the new channel is more costly and time consuming," Director of PT Multistrada Arah Sarana, Uthan Sadikin, said on Friday.
The tire export needed a half month to reach Kazakstan when they used Iran, but now the company needs a month since it switch its transit to China. Multistrada supplies tires to Kazakhstan market up to 2.6 million tires per year.
Senior Advisor of Socio Economic Affairs at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohamad Wahid Supriyadi said logistical problem was the most important issue to boost economic relations between Indonesia and Kazakhstan.
