REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Agus Martowardojo said Youth and Sports Affairs Minister is responsible for his ministry`s budget planning and spending.  

"The Youth and Sports Affairs Minister as the user of the budget fund in line with the law is certainly responsible for the planning, implementation, reporting even in issuing letter of payments," Martowardojo said after being grilled by the Corruption Eradication Commission for almost 10 hours on Tuesday. 

Martowardojo was questioned by the anti graft body as witness in the Hambalang sport center graft case with former Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Andi Malarangeng as a suspect.  "Now as the sports and youth affairs minister has been named a suspect we pray that he could explain everything clearly," he said. 

Martowardojo has been accused by Andy`s brother Rizal of being responsible for accepting a budget proposal without Andi`s signature on the proposal. According to regulation a budget proposal for a project worth more than Rp50 billion needs a signature of a minister. The Hambalang project worth more than a trillion rupiahs. The Supreme Audit Board (BPK) said the Hambalang case caused a loss of 243.6 billion IDR to the state.
