REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Transition Team for President-elect Joko Widodo, better known as Jokowi, is drafting proposals for the structure of the next cabinet, as well as on the criteria to be followed when appointing new ministers.
"We are only drafting the concept of the cabinet structure and institutions, as well as the criteria needed for choosing ministers," the deputy of the Jokowi transition team, Andi Widjajanto, said here on Saturday.
He noted that the concept continued to be improved and is expected to be finalized in the next two weeks, Andi said in a press statement made available to Antara here on Saturday.
Further, the transition team does not know who will be appointed to the cabinet in a Jokowi administration.
Andi added, while carrying out their task to create a draft concept, the transition team asked for input from organizations, such as the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM), Commission on Victims of Violence and Missing People (Kontras), the Setara Institute, Imparsial and a number of universities.
Also, the National Commission on Women Affairs (Komnas Perempuan) provided input about women's concerns.
"Bankers also provided their inputs to the transition team," Andi noted.
The team is seeking suggestions on the criteria for choosing a cabinet, not on actual nomination of candidates.
"We only are concerned with the criteria of would-be ministers, not the nominations of candidates," he stressed.
