REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Government is looking for the right person to chair state energy company, Pertamina. House of Representatives hopes the person who will fill Karen Agustiawan's position has a background on energy.
"We prefer person who understands gas dan oil sector. The position includes sensitivity on energy industry, not only its financial sector, " Vice Head of Commission VII of Parliament Satya Yudha said on Sunday, November 9.
He said that a person chairing Pertamina could not only depend on an experience serving as CEO, especially on financial sector. He added, the nature of gas sector was different with the nature of financial sector.
Energy Analyst Tri Widodo said that people who had worked in Pertamina were the ones who knew the condition of the company. "It will be the best to choose a person who has worked in Pertamina," he said.
Minister of State-owned Company Rini Soemarno is carrying out fit and proper test for candidates of Pertamina's Head. The candidates include all board of directors of Pertamina and six other candidates. The candidates are Director Executive of Bank Mandiri Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Director of Bank Mandiri Sunarso, ex-Director Executive of Bank Mandiri Zulkifli Zaini, ex-Chairman of State-owned electricity company (PLN) Fahmi Muhtar, Director Executive of Semen Indonesia Dwi Sucipto and ex-Chairman of Telkom Rinaldi Firmansyah.
