REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- PT Pertamina (Persero) agreed to cooperate with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) to reduce operating costs. Pertamina President Director, Dwi Sucipto, explained there are three important points in this cooperation.
The first point is the use of land along railway tracks for the construction of pipeline of gas transmission and fuel oil (BBM). Two other points are diesel conversion into LNG and the use of trains to carry the fuel.
"In the future we will think that in general the use of LNG could be 20 to 40 percent lower than oil. This is something interesting to be exploited," said Dwi, Friday (28/8).
Dwi continued, development of the gas pipeline will connect Gresik in East Java and Semarang in Central Java. Meanwhile, for the oil pipeline will connect Cilacap-Yogyakarta, Cilacap-Bandung, and Surabaya-Tuban.
“It was carried by truck, but it will soon carried along the pipeline,” he added.
Regarding the supply of oil and gas, Dwi ensured the supply will available. According to the plan, the supply will be took from Cepu block refinery, in Banten, and the construction of a refinery in Central Sulawesi.
