REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LHOKSEUMAWE -- Lhokseumawe in Aceh Province, would be crossed by railways as a means of transportation, in 2025.
"To have the mass transportation in Lhokseumawe, there will be land acquisition," said Head of Autonomy in Governance Section of Lhokseumawe, Rifyal shah, Monday (9/11).
He said, a survey showed that the length of railway lines in Lhokseumawe reached 18.9 kilometers. It started from Paloh Meuria village in Muara Satu to Blang Punteut village in Blang Mangat.
He added, in Lhokseumawe, railway line would be starting from Blang Naleung Mameh village to Blang Pulo village. It would be still using track existing at the colonial era.
However, in Paloh meuria, the track would be transferred to the hills and countryside to the borders of Lhokseumawe in Blang Punteut village. For hilly areas, tunnels would be made if there were any buildings on it. There would also be special railroad bridge, so the railways do not interfere other public facilities.
Regarding the completion target of railways services in Lhokseumawe, Rifyal said that based on the planning carried out by related parties, all construction would be completed by 2025.
According to Rifyal, the land area to be freed was amounted to 756 hectares. While, the budget for land acquisition was from DIPA Institute of Railway Engineering of Northern Sumatra.
"Now it has entered the implementation of land acquisition, while the measurement stage was already done before," Rifyal added.
