Development of PEPC gas field in Bojonegoro needs 5,000 workers

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOJONEGORO -- Pertamina EP Cepu (PEPC) said the development of its gas field in the district of Bojonegoro, East Java, will need 5,000 workers, but the number will narrow to only 300 when it starts production.

Development of the Jembaran-Tiung Biru gas field will start with civil work by state construction comoany PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk, the project manager Bob Wikan said.

"Civil works would cost around Rp165 billion," Bob said at a meeting with Bojonegoro regent Suyoto here on Wednesday.

Civil works will include construction of bridges, roads, etc, he added.

Construction of gas processing facilities, to cost Rp20 billion, will follow in July.

Based on schedule, development of the Jambaran-Tiung Biru gas field is to be completed in October 2018.

"Production is expected to start in October 2018 and by phases would peak in the first quarter of 2019," Bob said.

The peak production target of the gas field is 315 million standard cubic feet per day or net gas production of 185 million standard cubic feet per day.

Bob said 85 million standard cubic feet of the production would be supplied for PT Pupuk Kujang Cikampek, West Java, and 100 million standard cubic feet for Pertamina.

Bojonegoro Regent Suyoto asked the company to give priority in recruitment to local workers, and district authority are expected to supervise the process of recruitment.
