REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BATAM -- The Batam Administration Agency (BP Batam) is set to finish the construction of the Rp64 billion Telaga Punggur port project in November 2016.

"Construction is still underway with completion around 42 percent at present. Hopefully it will be operational in November this year," BP Batam spokesman Purnomo Andiantono said here on Tuesday.

The general port project that would serve as the main port to link the city of Batam and the Riau Islands capital Tanjungpinang, has been under construction since last year.

It is designed to become one of the best seaports in Indonesia, as convenient as an international port, Purnomo said.
