REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUALA LUMPUR -- Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla said Vietnam is interested in purchasing the CN-295 aircraft manufactured by PT Dirgantara Indonesia.
"We have discussed Vietnam's plan to purchase the CN-295 airplane," Kalla said here on Thursday.
Kalla met with the Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, Trinh Dinh, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum at ASEAN 2016 held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The trading of rice between Vietnam and Indonesia was also discussed during the meeting.
Kalla stated that Indonesia has not decided whether to import rice from any country.
The Vice President also stated the Indonesian position on the South China Sea dispute, an important concern for Vietnam.
He said Indonesia is a non-claimant state, with no rights to the waters that are being disputed by Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, China and Taiwan.
Kalla and his entourage had attended the WEF in Kuala Lumpur on 1-2 June 2016.
Kalla has proposed the creation of an ASEAN minimum wage for workers in ASEAN member countries to ensure equality in the region.
He said a minimum wage is important to prevent unhealthy competition in ASEAN.
Kalla also urged ASEAN countries not to force workers to compete at lower wages, but must work together to create a minimum standard wage to ensure healthy competition.
