REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Gerindra Party most likely to name Prabowo Subianto as its presidential candidate in 2019. Almost 100 percent of Gerindra cadres wished to endorse its chief patron party chairman.

"So far almost all Gerindra cadres want Mr Prabowo to become presidential candidate in 2019," said Gerindra Party deputy general chairman, Fadli Zon on Monday (26/2).

Fadli said, Gerindra Party will hold national consolidation in next March. The exact date is still being discuss.

"We are still considering other schedules, said Fadli.

Meanwhile, Gerindra Party still has not determine the vice presidential candidate. Fadli said it will be decided later after meeting with coalition partner parties.

Earlier, the other big party which known as Gerindra Party's main rival in 2014 election, Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) has reelect Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as its presidential candidate.

Previously, Fadli denied that Prabowo would be partnered with Jokowi (president Joko Widodo) for the next presidential election in 2019. "Never think that Prabowo would be willing to be partnered with Jokowi," he said on Tuesday (Feb 20).
