REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The development of infrastructure during Joko Widodo's government was less efficient, presidential candidate number 02, Prabowo Subianto remarked. He said that during the second round of presidential debate here on Sunday.

He pointed out that a number of projects had been carried out without feasibility studies. "Without feasibility study, the projects would lead to losses. It would be very difficult to pay for the projects. It is a problem," he said.

Development of infrastructure which is not based on people's interest would only be ended as a monument.

"Later it will become a monument, it is not used (by the public), such as the construction of light rail transit (LRT) in Palembang, South Sumatra and Kertajati International Airport in Majalengka, West Java," he said.

Based on data from the Ministry of Transportation, among the national strategic projects in transportation are development of Kertajati International Airport, Soekarno-Hatta Airport express train, Kuala Tanjung International Hub, Sultan Babullah Airport, Makassar New Port, Prabumulih-Kertapati railway, Ahmad Yani Airport and light rapid transit (LRT) in South Sumatra.
