REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, GRESIK - East Java provincial government are developing Bawean island as the new tourism attraction in the province. Assistant Governor and Public Welfare in Gresik, Tursilowanto said that Bawean island had potential tourism attractions.
"Some potential tourisms can be explored and developed in Bawean island," he said on Saturday.
Bawean is an island of Indonesia located approximately 150 km north of Surabaya in the Java Sea, off the coast of Java. The island offers four colors waterfalls and also beautiful landscapes to attract tourists. Gresik regency now begins to develop the area including healthcare facility to Bawean residents and also fast boat service. There are 3,008 deers living in Bawean.
Gresik regency has divide its development zone into five regions, including the local potential tourism of Mandangin island. Not only tourism development, the government also develops fruit plantation.
