FILMUSIKU.com — Halsey telah berjuang melawan penyakit autoimun secara pribadi, dan menulis seluruh pengalamannya itu dalam sebuah album. Pada Selasa (4/6/2024), penyanyi tersebut membagikan diagnosis lupusnya bersama dengan tayangan slide video yang menunjukkan dirinya berjuang melawan rasa sakit dan pengobatan.
“Saya memberi diri saya waktu dua tahun lagi untuk sakit. Pada usia 30, saya mengalami kelahiran kembali,” kata penyanyi berusia 29 tahun itu dalam video yang diberi caption ‘Singkat cerita, saya beruntung masih hidup’.
Pada 2022, Halsey didiagnosis dengan sindrom Ehlers-Danlos, sindrom Sjogren, sindrom aktivasi sel mast, dan sindrom takikardia ortostatik postural. “Singkat cerita, saya menulis album. Setiap beberapa tahun terakhir, seorang dokter mengatakan saya sakit,” kata dia lagi.
Single pertamanya berjudul “The End”, sudah rilis sekarang. Lagu ini dinyanyikan Halsey hanya dengan petikan gitar, menceritakan pengalamannya saat pertama kali menerima diagnosis penyakitnya. Di akhir lagu, Halsey bercerita bahwa dia tidak akan kalah dengan penyakitnya, dia tidak akan mati, dan dia meyakini bahwa diagnosis itu bukanlah akhir dunia.
