REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- History is recorded from 2024, when for the first time the celebration of Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia will be held in the Capital City of the State (IKN) at Istana Garuda, Penajam Passer Utara, East Kalimantan. Not all state officials will accompany President Joko Widodo at the IKN.

A number of ministers who will celebrate Indonesia's 79th independence day at IKN include PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, Investment Minister Head of Capital Investment Coordination Agency (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia and SOE Minister Erick Thohir.

Erick Thohir also participated in the series of events of August 17, 2024 at IKN. Through his social media, Erick Thohir stated that on Friday evening he accompanied Mr. President Joko Widodo in Apples of Honor and Sacred Devotion (AKRS), Kusuma Bangsa Park at IKN exactly on August 17 at 00:00 WITA.

“This is the first time AKRS has been held at IKN in memory of the heroes who have fought for Indonesia,” wrote Erick Thohir.
