Gerindra Secretary General Says Prabowo Has Started Calling Candidates for Ministers
Prabowo will announce the names of ministers in his cabinet shortly after being sworn in.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Gerindra Party Secretary General Ahmad Muzani revealed that a number of prospective ministerial candidates in the upcoming government cabinet have been called by President-elect Prabowo Subianto. However, he added that he himself was not included in the list of those summoned.
“People and nomenclature have begun to be drawn up and some have even begun to be called,” Muzani said at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (9/10/2024).
He also mentioned that a number of ministers in the cabinet of President Joko Widodo's government have been re-selected to fill ministerial posts in the upcoming Prabowo-Gibran cabinet.
“Mr. Prabowo has already said that the names of Mr. Jokowi's cabinet will be used to help him. So, yes a name that is considered good and is still quite fit (will) be worn,” he said.
Muzani was reluctant to disclose the figure, as well as the certainty of the number of ministry nomenclatures that would be established under Prabowo-Gibran's government. However, he did not rule out the possibility of PDI Perjuangan cadres who would be included in the cabinet, if the white-nosed bull party enters the upcoming government coalition.
“God willing, there is,” he said.
He mentioned the possibility that the composition of the cabinet of ministers of the Prabowo-Gibran government will be announced closer to the time of the inauguration of the president and vice president-elect on October 20, 2024.
“I don't know, wait. Anyway, 20 (October) is sworn in, maybe 21 (October) will be announced,” he said.
