Deputy Foreign Minister Says In Prabowo Era, RI Increasingly Actively Defends Palestine
In Prabowo's period so many conflicts could be game changers in the global situation.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Deputy Foreign Minister (Wamenlu) Anis Matta leaked President Prabowo Subianto's policy to be more active on the international scene. In fact, he said, specifically President Prabowo has more attention to the Palestinian issue.
“I think that in Mr. Prabowo's period, so many conflicts can be a game changer in the political situation globally,” Anis said during a meeting at the Presidential Palace, Central Jakarta, Monday (21/10/2024).
According to him, Indonesia's active role at the international level is appropriate. Because Indonesia as a great country must contribute to creating world peace, including in the case of the Palestinian independence struggle.
“I think according to his speech at the inauguration it is clear that Indonesia will play a bigger role according to its size as the third largest democracy in the world. In particular, he referred to the Palestinian issue, meaning that Indonesia carries out its constitutional mandate and humanely helps the Palestinians,” said the general chairman of the Gelora Party.
Even so, Anis is still waiting for President Prabowo's direction regarding the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) in the next five years. He also admitted that there is still no specific division of duties regarding the current whereabouts of the three ministers. “We'll talk about it later,” Anis said.
Previously, Prabowo had only invited two potential ministers, Anis Matta and Arrmanatha Nashir, to a private residence on Jalan Kertanegara Number 4, South Jakarta some time ago. However, now there is another minister, Arif Havas Oegroseno.
