Erick's Discussion with NVDIA Boss Draws Prabowo's Attention
Erick highlights the importance of AI technology to drive digital transformation in Indonesia.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir affirmed the SOE's commitment to improve efficiency through digital transformation. Not to mention, Erick has even discussed with NVIDIA Founder Jensen Huang in an effort to build the future of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in Indonesia.
Erick said his meeting with one of the world's leading technology companies that have played a major role in the development of global technology received special attention from President Prabowo Subianto.
“Yesterday when I had a discussion, President Prabowo telephoned Jensen Huang about AI. With this AI, there is corporate consolidation, with a single data it will be possible to eliminate all those that are not on target, it will be more efficient and clean because all the databases are open,” Erick said during a press conference with Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo during a press conference in the north lobby of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises office, Jakarta, Friday (15/11/2024).
Erick said meeting with Jensen Huang on Thursday (14/11/2024) was a valuable moment to delve into the AI ecosystem that has the potential to change Indonesia's future. During the meeting, Erick claimed to learn a lot from the technological innovations that have made NVIDIA a giant in the global marketplace.
Erick highlighted the importance of AI technology in driving digital transformation in Indonesia, while bringing great benefits to society and improving the quality of human resources in the country.
“We talked about the great opportunities that AI can bring to drive digital transformation in Indonesia, improve public welfare and strengthen the quality of human resources, in line with the direction of President General of the Armed Forces Prabowo Subianto,” said the former Inter Milan president.
With this meeting, Erick Thohir is optimistic that this collaborative step will accelerate the creation of technological innovations in Indonesia that are able to compete at the international level. It will also encourage progress in different sectors of people's lives.
“The strategic collaboration of various parties from industry, government and academia will enable Indonesia to compete globally, not only be an AI user but can actively contribute to building the world's digital ecosystem,” Erick said.
