Indra Sjafri Selects 23 U-19 Players for AFF U-19 Cup

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesia U-19 national coach Indra Sjafri has officially selected 23 players to participate in the AFF U-19 Cup or the ASEAN U-19 Boys Championship. Indra had brought 28 players to a training session in Surabaya a few days ago.

Now, Indra has crossed five players into 23 players for the event held from July 17 to July 29 in Surabaya. According to the official Instagram of the Indonesian national team on Monday (15/7/2024), the five players who were eliminated were Muhammad Farhan Sopiulloh, Fandi Bagus Pamungkas, Muhammad Darel Valentino Erlangga, Ji Da Bin, and Rahmat Syawal.

Meanwhile, two hereditary name players Jens Raven and Welber Jardim were included in the AFF U-19 Cup squad. The two players' names were accompanied by subscription names such as Ikram Algiffari, Iqbal Gwijangge, Kadek Arel, Arkhan Kaka, to Dony Tri Pamungkas.

The U-19 team is part of Group A of the 2024 AFF U-19 Cup along with East Timor, Cambodia and the Philippines. They will play their first match against the Philippines on Wednesday (17/7/2024), then Cambodia on Saturday (20/7/2024), and last against East Timor on Tuesday (23/7/2024). Demuanya will be played at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya.
