Later, there was Danamon Deputy President Commissioner Halim Alamsyah; Danamon President Director Daisuke Ejima; Danamon Director of Sharia and Sustainability Finance Herry Hykmanto; as well as Chairman of Danamon Sharia Supervisory Board Prof. M. Sirajuddin Syamsuddin.

This update strengthens the cooperation that has been established between Danamon and PP Muhammadiyah since 2012. The MoU now focuses primarily on improving public welfare through various strategic areas, such as education, health, finance, and philanthropy.

Danamon is committed to supporting the digitization of Muhammadiyah. In the field of philanthropy, the bank cooperates with Lembaga Amil Zakat, Infak and Sedekah Muhammadiyah (LazISMU), both at the central and regional levels, such as WaKafMu Pusat, LazISMU Aceh, and LazISMU Makassar.

This support also includes the development of education and payment systems in college and school settings, in order to accelerate the efficiency of Muhammadiyah's social and philanthropic programs, aimed at the welfare of the wider community through relief funds.

Prof. Haedar Nashir welcomes this expansion of cooperation with Danamon. He called for the commitment to remain mindful of the principles of good governance and professionalism in safeguarding security and trust.

“For Muhammadiyah, those core values must have an impact on the progress of the people, not only in terms of religious observance, but also in the life of civilization. For us, religion should also take care of life, not just the sacred. And, it should all remain moderate,” Haedar said at the PP Muhammadiyah Office, Menteng, Jakarta, Wednesday (23/10/2024).

He explained that the banking world for Muhammadiyah is not only for business and financial affairs, but also touches the social and philanthropic aspects of the people. Banking should provide as much benefit to the general public as possible. Therefore, the micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) sector should be taken seriously, not just a “side” of policy.

The head of PT Bank Danamon Indonesia, Daisuke Ejima, expressed his appreciation to Muhammadiyah. He welcomed the trust that the Commonwealth had placed in this cooperation.

“This cooperation that has been established for more than a decade is a testament to the commitment of both parties to jointly improve the well-being of the Indonesian people. We hope that this opportunity will open up more collaboration opportunities in the future,” Ejima said.

Herry Hykmanto said that this MoU will further strengthen Danamon's role in supporting the Muhammadiyah banking ecosystem, especially in holistic financial management.

“We are very optimistic that this cooperation will bring great benefits, not only for Danamon, but also for the citizens of Muhammadiyah,” Danamon's Director of Sharia and Sustainability Finance said.

As part of this cooperation, Danamon is committed to continuing to support the development of digital services and banking innovation in the Muhammadiyah neighborhood. With the same spirit, Danamon and Muhammadiyah are ready to face various challenges ahead in realizing the welfare of society in a sustainable way.

Support was also provided to various sharia people's financing banks (BPRS) which are under the auspices of Muhammadiyah. This is through the various financing solutions Danamon offers for the development of institutions, facilities, and members of Muhammadiyah.

For example, sharia home ownership financing (KPR) solutions, sharia vehicle ownership credits, as well as hajj and umrah. Then, support for financial literacy to help the sustainability and resilience of the Muhammadiyah Commonwealth.
