REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, GIANYAR -- The Indonesia U-20 national team has started a short training (TC) concentration in Gianyar, Bali. In TC about a week, coach Indra Sjafri matured the tactics, skills, physical and mental skills of the players in preparation for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup in China.
“We started TC one week in Bali,” Indra Sjafri said at Bali United Beach Purnama Training Center, Gianyar Regency, Bali, Wednesday (30/10/2024).
TC in Bali runs from October 27 to November 3, 2024 and lasts about two hours. On Wednesday, Indra held three sessions, starting at 06.00 Wita, 11.00 and 16.30 Wita.
The coach from South Coast, West Sumatra made sure there were no obstacles in the TC process in Bali. From the facilities side, infrastructure to physicality players are in fit condition and there are no injuries.
“The training facilities are good, the PSSI support is good, the club support has been tremendous as well for us,” he said.
The former Bali United coach also appreciated the club fielding 33 players in the Garuda Muda squad. Because, they have established intensive communication with the coaches of clubs that compete in Liga 1 Indonesia.
“Especially children who play in Ligue 1, we give dispensation for them to enter TC because we think playing in the competition is much more important than TC,” he added.
Some of the Indonesian U-20 players who also played in Liga 1 were Kadek Arel who played for Bali United, then Sulthan Zaky at PSM Makassar, and Dony Pamungkas at Persija Jakarta.
Meanwhile, after TC in Island of Gods, the Indonesia U20 national team is scheduled to fly to Tokyo, Japan to undergo further TC on 6-23 November 2024.
The plan is that the Indonesia U-20 national team will depart on November 4, 2024 from Bali to Jakarta first, then later that day also fly to Japan.
