REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The peak backflow of Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijri holiday occurred on Monday (9/6/2025), with 43,817 passengers recorded disembarking at various stations in PT KAI Daerah Operasi (Daop) 1 Jakarta, such as Gambir Station and Pasar Senen Station.
“The number of passengers dropped today is the highest during the backflow period, marking the peak of the movement of people back to Jakarta,” said PR Manager of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Ixfan Hendriwintoko, in Jakarta on Monday.
Pasar Senen Station recorded the largest number of passengers dropped, namely 15,031 people, followed by Gambir Station with 14,825 people.
Other stations also recorded significant movements: Bekasi Station 4,631 passengers, Jatinegara Station 5,476 passengers, Cikarang Station 1,980 passengers, Karawang Station 875 passengers, and Cikampek Station 999 passengers.
Although Monday is the peak of Eid al-Adha 1446 H, passenger movements are expected to remain high on Tuesday (10/6/2025), with 34,800 tickets to Jakarta having been sold.
On the other hand, the volume of departures was also still high, with 28,684 passengers recorded departing on the same day. To serve these needs, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta operates 77 Long Distance Rail (KAJJ) trips, including additional trains.
PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta appeals to customers to come early to the station and prepare for the trip well.
“We still appeal to customers to come early to the station and abide by safety rules during the journey,” he said.
During the period 4—9 June 2025, a total of 197,631 people were recorded travelling from various stations in the Daop 1 area of Jakarta.
The peak volume of departures occurred on Thursday (5/6/2025) with a total of 42,687 passengers, followed on Friday (6/6) by 37,972 passengers, and Wednesday (4/6) by 36,482 passengers.
