REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya accompanied President Prabowo Subianto in receiving the visit of FIFA President Gianni Infantino. The meeting took place in a warm and familiar atmosphere, marking Indonesia's close relationship with the parent world soccer organization.

During a meeting that took place Wednesday (24/9/2025) in New York, USA, Seskab Teddy welcomed the number one person in the world football federation with great hospitality.

“Morning, Mr President, how are you?” Teddy said to Infantino who was warmly welcomed.

Infantino expressed his appreciation for the Indonesian government's serious commitment to building a modern football ecosystem. According to him, with its great potential, Indonesia can become one of the centers of football growth in the Asian region.

“Under the leadership of President Prabowo and guided by PSSI Chairman and newly elected Sports Minister Erick Thohir, Indonesian football has enjoyed significant growth, which was recognised through the FIFA Forward Gold award earlier this year. I wish him luck as his country tries to qualify for next year's FIFA World Cup,” Infantino said.

The support of President Subianto, which he encountered last year, as well as his government were highly appreciated by Infantino. Together, he said, FIFA will continue to push for change through the FIFA Forward fund and make the most of initiatives already active, such as the FIFA Talent Development Scheme and Football for Schools.
