The Inauguration of KEK Sanur, Prabowo: Education and Health is a Vehicle for Equalization

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR -- President Prabowo Subianto insists that the state must be present to ensure the health of all Indonesians and make health services a means of equalizing welfare. “The duty of a country is to protect its people, encompassing all aspects,” Prabowo said in a speech during the inauguration of the Sanur Special Economic Area (KEK) and Bali International Hospital in Denpasar City, Bali Province, Wednesday (25/6/2025).

“First of all, of course, the aspect of his well-being, his life. It means that the people should be guaranteed, protected from hunger, and poverty, and afterwards or in tandem with it, the step to help get out of poverty is to improve the quality of life, especially the health of citizens,” Prabowo said.

He also said that health and education are important instruments in building social justice. Therefore, the existence of KEK Sanur became important for establishing the independence of the nation. “Education, health, is a vehicle for equalization, a vehicle for improving well-being. Therefore, in order to build the independence of a nation, this step of the KEK, this health KEK is very important,” Prabowo said.

He also appreciates the role of previous nation leaders who have pioneered the foundation of national health care. “We should honor presidents before us who pioneered the best health care. All our presidents from the first to the last have all been meritorious in building the health service of our country,” Pranowo said.

On the occasion, Prabowo shared his experience reviewing two hospitals in Bali, namely Ngoerah Sun Wellness and Aesthetic Center (NSWAC) and Bali International Hospital (BIH). RI 1 expressed its admiration for the advanced and modern facilities provided by both hospitals while emphasizing the importance of access to health services for all Indonesians, not just certain groups.

“With our insurance system that we have to strengthen, this is also not limited to the upper class. With health services needed by anyone when insurance and government intervention are needed. So that economically disadvantaged people can also have access to the best services,” Prabowo said.
