REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - French Ambassador to Indonesia, Corinne Breuze refuted reports by international media that France would not send weapons to Syrian opposition.

"Another thing that makes conflict in Syria is so complicated is the feud between Sunni and Shia groups. Not only that, there are many minority groups living in Syria, such as Coptic Christians, Kurds, and other groups," Breuze said during a visit to Republika recently.

French government, she said, continued to provide assistance to Syria people including buillding a hospital for Syrian refugees in Jordan. According to the former French Ambassador to Jordan, conflict in Syria is so complex. Unlike in Libyan crisis in March 2011, members of UN Security Council are divided over any gesture to condemn Syrian regime. A draft of resolution have been vetoed three times by two permanent members of UN Security Council, Russia and China.
