REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Australian media accused that Indonesian intelligence conducted a wiretapping against Australia and Western countries with Chinese devices. It is considered only as a diversion issue as the Kangoroo country did not want to apologize to Indonesia.

Chairman of Gerindra Party at House of Representative, Sarifuddin Sudding said that the charge was not followed by relevant evidences, but just based on an anonymous source. This allegation does not need to be responded by Indonesian government.

"It was just a baseless accusation. Australia wants to divert the issue of wiretapping conducted by Australian government to Indonesia. They simply accuses without providing the evidence," Sudding said on Wednesday.

Sudding asked Indonesian government to focus on the issue and continued to ask Australian attitudes towards Indonesia as disclosed by Edward Snowden. Counterattack through the news should not distract Indonesia from Australian explanation.

"They use anonymous sources and it cannot be proven," Sudding said.

The charge against Indonesia was written through media pages of News Corp at news.com.au on Tuesday. A re-write from Australian intelligence source, Indonesia and China were conducted joint intelligence operations over Australian government and citizens.

News Corp also explained that telephone, network officials of diplomats and Australian companies have been tapped by Indonesian military. The result of tapping operations was then given to Chinese military authorities through Indonesian military intelligence agency.
