REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YANGON -- Two bombs exploded at minutes' interval near two private banks in Lashio, Myanmar's Shan state- north, Friday before dawn with no casualties reported, the information authorities confirmed.
However, the explosions, which occurred near the Kanbawza Bank and the Cooperatives Bank at about 03:30 a.m. (local time), destroyed an electric transformer nearby the Cooperatives Bank and broke glass windows of the other bank.
An automobile accessories shop was also hit by the explosion, the sources added.
The blasts were suspected to have taken place when attempts were made to plant the bombs.
